Scholarships

Our program today featured two representatives from Oxnard Community College and Moorpark Community College who spoke on their scholarship programs.

Peter Parker, Oxnard Scholarship Foundation Executive Director.  Peter is dedicated to increasing scholarships at Oxnard College.  He cited that two of our past scholarship recipients achieved their goals in becoming an Environmental Engineer and a graduate with an Associate’s degree in Biology.  

For 30 years, Mara Rodriquez has been a steadfast leader at America’s Teaching Zoo at Moorpark Community College.  As the Zoo’s Development Coordinator, she will discuss the recently completed Tiger exhibit and habitat at the zoo.  Mara was accompanied by one of her students who spoke about why many animals cannot be returned to the wild.
