Lauren Gill, the Deputy of the Wildlife Federation, spoke to our club for an update on the progress of the wildlife crossing. The groundbreaking day was 4/22/22 and the completion is forecasted for 2025. This will be the largest wildlife corridor in the world and will restore habitats and an eco-system that over time has been degraded by human development. This bridge will allow only wildlife to cross freely and safely over the 101 freeway and ensure the survival and proper mating of many isolated species. After the bridge is completed, work will begin on creating a native habitat with soil and native plants.
